Bosnia-Herzegovina sack Susic

Sunday's 3-0 defeat to Israel saw winless Bosnia-Herzegovina slump to second-from-bottom in Group B with just two points from their four matches, and the Bosnia and Herzegovina Football Federation has decided a change is in order to arrest the national team's poor run of form.

"Safet Susic has been released from duty, which applies to his assistants Borceta Sredojevica, Elvira Baljic and Tomislav Piplica," a statement on the federation's website said.

Susic, who was appointed in 2009, led Bosnia-Herzegovina to the summer's World Cup in Brazil, where they failed to progress to the knockout stages after finishing third in their group behind Argentina and Nigeria.

Bosnia-Herzegovina's Euro 2016 qualifying campaign began with a 2-1 defeat to Cyprus and, although they then secured draws against Wales and Belgium, Sunday's defeat in Haifa further dented their hopes of qualifying for the tournament.

Bosnia-Herzegovina are next in Euro 2016 qualifying action on March 28 when they play Andorra.

The Dragons currently trail group leaders Israel by seven points, second-placed Wales by six and third-placed Cyprus by four.
